The genre has been a part of movies since the 50s, and has always added that extra spark, glamour and oomph to the movies. Perhaps that’s the reason why even the A-listers have never shied away from playing cabaret dancers on the big screen. From Helen to Kareena Kapoor, they have all done it and won millions of hearts!
And the latest to join the bandwagon is Richa Chadda, who will be seen in the role of a cabaret dancer, in her upcoming film Cabret.
The actress, who is known for her role in Massan and Sarbjit, being the latest, will be amping up the glam quotient in the movie. Produced by Pooja Bhatt and Bhushan Kumar, the romantic drama has been directed by Kaustav Narayan Niyogi. Speculations are rife that the film is based on the life of Helen, Bollywood most popular and loved cabaret dancer.

Zeenat Aman
The beautiful lady has hit tracks like ‘Rakkaasa Mera Naam’ from the ‘Great Gambler’ and ‘Aao Baahon Mein’ from ‘Bhawani Junction’, in her kitty.
Priyanka Chopra
The power-packed performer made it to the list of hottest on-screen dancers with her song ‘Asalaam-e-Ishqum’ from the film ‘Gunday’.
Kareena Kapoor Khan
The actress, who claims she is made to sing and dance, gyrated to the remixed version of the classic ‘Ye Mera Dil Pyar ka Deewana’ in ‘Don’.
