Bollywood actors earnings are much speculated by their fans who feel that as these actor earning go in crores they must be leading a life of a royalty. But few know that behind all that glitter and glitz, the celebrities lead a insecure life. For with a wrong step or investment they lose all that they earned over the span of their career. Here we bring to you list of Bollywood celebrities who once went bankrupt.

SHWETA PRASAD

Makdee movie’s child artist Shweta Prasad who is winner of National Award went bankrupt. The actor who is now 23 years old was caught in a sex racket and according to reports the actress said she took such a step because she was running out of money.

PREITY ZINTA

 After Preity Zinta’s production house maiden movie ‘Ishkq In Paris’ became a box-office disaster. Rumours had spread that dimpled beauty is suffering from financial crisis. According to reports, Abbas Tyrewala who was the dialogue writer of Ishkq In Paris movie of Priety Zinta filed a case against her regarding non-payment of his work. A cheque worth rupees 18.9 lakh had also bounced. Court issued non-bailable arrest against Priety Zinta when she failed to appear in the court for the first time. Actress confessed that Salman Khan offered to help.

JACKIE SHROFF 

 Jackie Shroff suffered a bankruptcy when he loaned money from filmmaker Sajid Nadiawala but was unable to pay him back in 2008. Sajid wanted to proceed with the legal action to recover his due amount. But it was Dabangg Khan of Bollywood Salman Khan who intervened in this matter and helped Jackie resolve the problem. It was rumoured that Jackie sold his flats to pay the loan amount.

GOVINDA

 After too much of stardom in his bollywood and political career there was a point of time when actor Govinda was completely bankrupt. Starting a fresh career with ‘Partner’ Govinda made a Bollywood comeback and cleared all his debts.

AMITABH BACHCHAN

 Megastar of Bollywood Amitabh Bachchan faced a bankruptcy when his company ‘ABCL’ was decleared bankrupt and was over 90 crores in debt. The Megastar had to put his house for mortgage but the offer of ‘Kaun Banega Crorepati’ solved all the financial issues of Big B and helped him to recover from his financial problem.

AK HANGAL

Bollywood actor A.K. Hangal who is known for his work in movies like Namak Haraam, Sholay and for his famous dialogue, “Itna sannatta kyu hain bhai” went bankrupt at the age of 95. Actor found it difficult to meet his medical expenses, then celebrities like Jaya Bachchan and Salman Khan helped him to pay his dues.
