Tanuja and Tanisha Mukherjee:

Tanuja ruled Bollywood at the peak of her career, thanks to her bubbly character and sweet smile. While her older daughter Kajol set an unbeatable name for herself, Tanuja's younger daughter Tanisha is known more for her relationship with fellow Bigg Boss contestant Armaan Kohli than her acting chops.

Hema Malini and Esha Deol:

The Dream Girl of B-Town was everybody was fantasy, what with her ethereal beauty and big, gorgeous eyes! She not only wowed the audiences, but also made the much married Dharmendra go weak in his knees. They tied the knot in a secret ceremony, and their union gave the world Esha Deol, their elder daughter.  The Deol babe couldn't replicate the success and magic of her illustrious parents, despite a promising start in the industry. She got married recently and is back on the small screen as a reality TV judge.

Sharmila Tagore and Soha Ali Khan:

B-Town's original dimpled-beauty Sharmila Tagore was quite progressive for her years. She was the first actress in Hindi cinema to sport a bikini and carry it off like a pro! With her chaand sa roshan chehra and jheel si neeli aankhen, she ruled our hearts. It's a pity that her equally beautiful daughter Soha couldn't live up to the family name. She is married to co-actor Kunal Khemu and doesn't seem to be interested in movies anymore.

Suchitra Sen and Moonmoon Sen and Riya Sen:

This is one family that has been a pet of the industry for a long time. Bengali beauty Suchitra Sen made a name for herself in regional cinema, along with a successfully stint on Bollywood. But her daughter Moonmoon couldn't take the family name ahead, while Moonmoon's own daughter Riya Sen is known mostly for her alleged MMS scandal. Ouch.

Dimple Kapadia and Rinkie Khanna:

The Bobby of Tinsel town is known for her feisty roles. Her luscious hair, gorgeous smile and peppy persona make her one of the most popular starts of her times. At the peak of her career, she married Bollywood's blue-eyed boy Rajesh Khanna and gave birth to two daughters. Her older daughter Twinkle is a successful interior designer and columnist (married to Akshay Kumar), while her younger daughter is married to a businessman. Both the pretty ladies failed to make a name for themselves in the industry. Twinkle still manages to be in the limelight due to her hilarious columns and Twitter wars, her sister has completely vanished from the sphere.

Salma and Sasha Agha:

Singer Salma Agha is most famous for her heart-wrenching numbers. The Pakistani artist has made a name for her herself all over the world. It's not something we can say about her daughter Sasha, who made her dream debut opposite Arjun Kapoor in Aurangzeb. The film tanked, taking Sasha's career along with it. We still hope that she returns to our screens with a decent flick!
