The untimely death of television actress Pratyusha Banerjee shocked her fans and members of film fraternity and television industry. Anandi of “Balika Vadhu” aka Pratyusha committed suicide Friday at her residence in Mumbai.
While, According to the police the actual reason of her committing suicide is not clear yet. Here are 10 developments in the case till now.
1.Pratyusha Banerjee’s body was found hanging from ceiling fan of her suburban apartment in Bangur Nagar, Mumbai on April 1, Friday.
2. Banerjee’s body was first discovered by her boyfriend Rahul Raj Singh, who then rushed her to Kokilaben Hospital where she declared dead by doctors.
3. According to sources within the police, the last person to have visited her house was the laundry man.
4. According to reports, the Police was informed about Banerjee’s death by the hospital authorities and not by Rahul Raj Singh.
5. No suicide note hinting towards the cause behind Pratyusha’s drastic step has been discovered as yet.
6. Television celebs like Ajaz Khan, Rakhi Sawant and Pratyusha’s flat mate Anuj Sachdeva have claimed that Pratyusha was a strong girl and couldn’t’ have taken this extreme step. They have unanimously blamed her boyfriend Rahul for pushing Pratyusha to the brink of suicide.

8. Banerjee’s body has been shifted to Siddharth Hospital in Goregaon West area of Mumbai and The investigation is happening at Bangur Nagar police station in Goregaon. Her post mortem report will be released by 4 pm on Saturday.
9. Pratyusha Banerjee’s parents reached Mumbai this morning. They have flown in from Banerjee’s hometown, Jamshedpur. Rahul Raj also reached the hospital.
10. Rahul Raj Singh has been detained by the Police for interrogation at an unknown location. Police recorded his statement, he said, “We used to stay in a 2 bedroom flat. We had two keys; one key was with Pratyusha and the other was with me. When I entered the bedroom, I found Pratyusha hanging from the ceiling. I got very scared. Immediately, I called the neighbours and with their help, I took her to Kokilaben Hospital. We assumed that she was alive, but she was not. I got so scared that I did not inform the police. It was the hospital authorities who informed them. After the doctor’s declaration, I called up Pratyusha’s family members and few of our close friends.”
