PRASHANTI CANCER CARE MISSION ORGANIZES FOR A SEMINAR ON BREAST CANCER AWARENESS

 

KNOW YOUR BREAST AND BEYOND

 

 

Pune Thursday 24th July, 2014: The Prashanti Cancer Caré Mission today organized a program on AWARNESS for Breast Cancer through entertainment titled “Know your breast and Beyond” at  J W Marriot.

 

The program was designed to bring about awareness and educate young women about breast health through interesting presentations using audio visual aids, animated videos and live videos on prevention, healthy lifestyle and diet as well as on the state of the art treatment that combines aesthetics in the management of breast disease. A Holistic approach was also discussed.

 

The lectures began with Bollywood actress Kajol, who had kindly agreed to be the ambassador of the concept of prevention, early detection and the innovative dimension of embracing aesthetics in the management of breast disease through the Oncoplastic approach, she set the ball rolling with her address to the congregation at the inaugural program between 10 and 11 am.

 

The program was spearheaded by Dr. Anand Koppikar of Prashanti Cancer Care Mission.

 

Then there were lectures on the topics as described above on various aspects of breast health by Nationally and internationally renowned experts from the field. The Single minded focus of the conference was to bring home a message to the community that if addressed correctly Breast cancer can be prevented and curbed maintaining or at times even enhancing ones quality of life and body aesthetics.

 

These were intermingled with short addresses by Resool Pookutti the Oscar award winner for Slumdog Millionaire and Nawazzudin Siddiqui the renowned and National award winning actor. There was also dance and music that flowed throughout the program which ended at 4 pm. The participants had the opportunity to interact with the Stars. There was no single dull moment during the session.
